Affordable housing provider Places for People has launched an energy supply company, which is aiming to offer savings and efficiencies to commercial and domestic customers.
Places for People Energy will supply energy to commercial customers across England, Scotland and Wales, offering a variety of flexible purchasing options. Domestic customers will also be able to switch to Places for People Energy, with the company saying it will offer typical annual savings of around £200 on domestic energy bills compared to traditional ‘big six’ providers. It has given special consideration to customer service and will offer simplified billing processes in a bid to help safeguard customers against fuel poverty.
Simran Soin, group finance director of Places for People says, “Forming an energy supply company is a logical step for the group, as it will deliver savings and efficiencies to our entire business estate, as well as providing an innovative, ethical alternative for commercial and domestic customers across Great Britain.
“As the only significant energy supplier in the market operating on a not-for-dividend business model, Places for People Energy will be able to reinvest any future profits back into the business, resulting in savings that can be passed on to customers in the form of cheaper tariffs.”
